Cake Industries carried out an independent structural design check for an asymmetric stress ribbon bridge that spans 30m from bank to bank. The structure consists of highly stressed steel cables topped with stone slabs to provide a walking surface, with simple stainless steel parapet posts and a oak handrail. The check included an assessment of the loads and geometry control during construction as well as a check of the maximum loads over the life time of the bridge.
The fabrication of the stainless steel parapet and handrail will be carried out by Cake Industries.
