As part of our work with James Glancy Design for the new Christmas lighting at St. James Quarter, Edinburgh, we designed and fabricated an 8m tall star sculpture as the centrepiece. A central icosahedral core contains the electrical drivers and supports 19 spikes fabricated from slender steel equal angle section. This sculpture has to withstand high winds blowing directly up from the Firth of Forth as well as “accidental” loading from brave revellers!
