IQL Amphitheatre
Cake Industries realised a competition-winning pavilion in Stratford’s International Quarter for Lendlease, transforming a busy commercial terrace into a vibrant, sculptural space.
The galvanised steel cantilever structure, clad in glulam larch, spans nine repeated bays to support a flowing canopy. Its exterior is finished with powder-coated aluminium shingles, transitioning from vivid pink to pastel green, creating dynamic visual impact from every angle. Inside, bespoke galvanised and powder-coated steelwork, hardwood seating, and a long communal table reinforce the colourful, playful design language. The pavilion combines structural clarity, material precision, and bold aesthetics, delivering a durable, functional, and memorable architectural landmark for the urban context.
