Meet the team

Keefer Erickson is an industrial designer with extensive experience spanning design, fabrication and delivery. He has worked with artists, architects, private clients and global brands to realise projects of all scales across the UK and Europe.

As Managing Director of Cake Industries, Keefer combines design thinking with a deep understanding of materials and manufacturing. He is our go-to problem solver, working closely with teams to review details, plan builds, and ensure projects are practical, well-resolved and deliverable. Keefer remains involved in every project, providing oversight from early concept discussions through to final installation.

Ed Jacobs has led the workshop at Cake for the past eight years, overseeing the making of every project to leave our doors. Starting as Workshop Manager, he has guided our fabrication teams through complex builds with a consistently high success rate, ensuring every build meets the level of craft and finish people expect from Cake.

Now Operations Director, Ed brings deep practical understanding of our work and how we deliver it. He knows the company inside out and plays a key role in planning, resourcing and running our projects. Ed is also our face on site, coordinating installation and working closely with teams and contractors to ensure builds are executed safely, accurately and efficiently.

With an early background in farming, Dewi went on to study design before moving fully into the fabrication industry, where he has remained since. He first joined Cake as a welder-fabricator, bringing practical making experience into early project engagement. Dewi works closely with clients and design teams to develop buildable solutions and a clear route from concept to installation for complex architectural structures.

David Knight MA (Cantab) MEng CEng MICE FIStructE is a chartered structural and civil engineer who has worked closely with architects to design and deliver bridges, buildings and moving structures. He leads our design services at Cake Industries, guiding engineering development from concept through to build.

David led the work that saw our partner company, Cake Engineering, named Bridge Consultant of the Year at the NCE Bridges Awards 2024, recognised for its combined consultancy and fabrication approach and impact as a small, highly skilled team. He was also awarded the IABSE Early Career Prize in 2023 for achievement in structural engineering. David remains actively involved in every project, ensuring the blend and collaboration of design, engineering and fabrication constantly align.

With a background in architecture and a career built through hands-on making, Andy combines design insight with practical fabrication knowledge. He began as a model maker at a leading London practice before moving into high-end furniture making, progressing from the workshop floor to director level.

As a founding member of Cake Industries, Andy oversees fabrication across all projects, working closely with teams to ensure ideas are resolved clearly, built well, and delivered to a high standard. He has oversight of every project, ensuring quality control is maintained throughout.
